I’ve just finished reading the book Holes by Louis Sachar. It was exciting, tense and a lot more. I’m going to tell you about it now.
It was all because of Stanley’s no – good – dirty – rotten – pig – stealing – great – great – grandfather. Stanley is sent to Camp Green Lake (a camp for naughty boys) where he meets friends and digs holes. Stanley teaches a boy called Zero ( Hector ) to read and write but the warden doesn’t think much of that. Since Zero was nothing to the warden, he ran away. Stanley chased him ( since he didn’t want to lose a friend. ) They find each other, and climb a mountain together. At the top of the mountain, they live on onions and water ( obviously ). They also dig, to try and find a lost treasure which was buried 110 years ago. They find it but Stanley falls into a Yellow – spotted – lizard nest. ( a Yellow – spotted – lizard has a poisonous bite ) I wont say any more.
The book is great and I like it because it’s tense and exciting. I would definitely recommend it and give it five stars. But you have to read it to find out the rest!
