Earthquake Engineering

Yesterday P6/7 were having a go at being engineers, tasked with designing and making ‘buildings’ which were able to withstand an earthquake.  Using marshmallows and toothpicks, the pupils had to work out which shapes were best to use, and how to make their buildings as stable as possible.  The pupils designed some very impressive structures, and some managed to survive the Great Jelly Earthquake fully intact!
